Arthur's Day Celebration 09

Black Eye Peas performance was amazing and it was so much fun. Guinness invited MC hotdog
who sang " Wo ai Ai Mei" and that was a reminiscence of my time back in Shanghai.

Hennessy Artistry Concert 2008

It was held at the Pudong International Expo Centre. We were like 20 min late so we had to run to the VIP section to get our hands stamped. Before hand I was contemplating on what to wear as my gfs were all asking me. I thought better wear something comfortable or else I will not enjoy much of the concert. So there I was in my jeans and adidas sports shoes while everyone was all glam ed up! Felt so ugly at that moment. The artists that were performing that night was Mavis Fan, Jay Zhou, Wyclef Jean and 3 more artist which I was not very familiar with. One was a really handsome Thai DJ, an American band and this Korean singer.

On the way in

The concert was jammed packed with ppl. Everyone was dressed to kill except for me so I felt like UGLY BETTY at that very moment.

The handsome Thai DJ.
Mavis Fan

My glamorous ladies
Wyclef Jean never fails in giving a good show

After waiting for close to 3 hours and going to thru the ordeal of listening to the American band and the Korean singer, we finally had Jay Chou on stage.

I was screaming "hallelujah" but I am sure those ladies who were wearing those high heels shoes are kneeling down and praising the lord.

Ok so he is not cute or sexy but I have to say his songs never fails to entertain me.
At the end of the concert, I was glad to see Jay and wearing my adidas sport shoes cause it was a good 5 hours of standing around. Being UGLY BETTY was worth it for that night.

Hairspray Musical

After a late night out the night before....

The next morning, I had to pull myself out of bed for the Hairspray musical. I went for the matinee show and because I had decided to take a bus and get the ticket on the day itself, I had to be up a little earlier compared to others.

I arrived half an hour earlier and for every concert that I have been to.....first thing I do is to head straight to the "HUANG NIU". As usual, I had to work on my bargaining skills, I had to bargain my way for a RMB 500 ticket to a good RMB 350. Was it worth it? Yes, I got 6th row from the stage.

An advise when purchasing a ticket, you would have to double check if it is a real ticket with the ticket master.. most of the time they are.
The HUANG NIU will always ask you to check first and then pay them after.
If they don't..... look for another HUANG NIU ..... they are scattered around close to the main entrance.

The musical was really good....the performance was top class.
If you have a chance do go for it!

What an End to My Saturday

I just got back from Dou Wei, Zhang Chu, He Yong & Jiang Xin 2008 Shanghai Concert - my favs Zhang Chu and Dou Wei.
He Yong & Dou Wei are so fat now.

(First picture below was taken when they were young)
Sorry to say but Jiang Xin was utterly rubbish....she tries too hard - everyone was screaming for her to stop singing. Anyway ain't wasting my time talking about her as she wasted my precious one hour. I wanna get at least RMB 50 back!!!! Pic of her below - small screen
I thought the concert will be done by 10pm then I could head straight to LAN club opening party. Did that happen - guess not. The concert ended at 11:30 due to Zhang Chu being stuck in traffic which I thought was utterly rubbish ...stuck in traffic at 10:30pm when you are the last act? Whatever.....he made it up with his GOOD MUSIC and amazing drummer! My rocker friend was with in awe of the dude.
Dou Wei did not sing "Don't break my heart" which I LOVE. Oh well I will just blast it on my stereo for now.

The crowd were amazing everyone were singing to all these old rockers's songs.

Next week I will be going for a newbie underground rock group in town. Will keep you all posted on how I got on with that.

I will leave you with Zhang Chu and his huge backup singers (the crowd) - they were amazing!

A little bird told me Coldplay is coming - lets pray hard for that!

It would be icing on the cake if Radiohead would come toooo...

ok I am asking far too much....I know!

Will stop dreaming
