Shining Through & Sadako

Shining Through - Choir Singing

Shining Through - Choir Singing

This was a charity concert for the unprivileged children - Ray of Hope. The choir headed by HK Chong sung beautifully.

This play was pretty disturbing....it was about Sadako Sasaki. She was a 2 years old girl when the atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945, near her home by Misasa Bridge in Hiroshima, Japan. At the time of the explosion Sadako was at home, about one mile from Ground Zero. By November 1954, chicken pox had developed on her neck and behind her ears. Then in January 1955, purple spots had started to form on her legs. Subsequently, she was diagnosed with leukemia. (Wiki)

But i felt that the producers made the theatre look more like Sadako Yamamura. Sadako Y was actually the girl from the movie The Ring. So the whole play there were spirits which reminds me of Sadako Y then Sadako S. I mean it did tell the story of Sadako S but at the back of my head it was an adaptation of the movie The Ring.

I would freak out many kids and there were a couple of families who walked out. It was too scary. Nevertheless, I found this theatre to be one of the best play I have seen so far. Kudos to the director Peter Chong and director, Ivan Lee.

J & J Show

As you know I was fairly disappointed with Douglas Lim and Harith Iskandar show. This time I have decided not to have that high of an expectation for the J & J Show.

Will Quah opened the show for them - he did a pretty good job but recycled the last song for his ex gf of 10 years. It was sung before on the Torch Song Massacre.

Jit Murad - I have never seen Jit Murad perform nor did I know he was gay. Nevertheless his intrepretation of a Chinese drag was hilarious. Kudos to him for sounding very ah lian.

Joanne Kam - Not funny....I did not laugh. I mean I can understand sex jokes are either about small or big dicks or how Chinese men compared to the other races have small ones. How British men are just bad in bed....I don't know is just heard it before jokes.

I am hoping the last show I am going to would live up to my expectations.

Comedy Month - Douglas Lim & Harith Iskandar

First show I attended for the comedy month.

I was fairly impressed with Douglas Lim cause of his humour - making fun of the Malaysian politics and singing about how his friend who converted to Islam missed having pork. That was hilarious.....

Harith Iskandar was really dissapointing, I mean come on I paid RM 65 not to listen to him talk about him getting married to his 26 year old fiancee. I have heard it and seen it on the radio and the newspaper. I think I would have enough of his publicity. GUESS IT WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR HIM!

It was so BORING!!!! Not funny at all. I mean i know is a happy thing to talk about yourself getting married but this is not a free publicity stunt or may I add a cheap marketing tool for us Malaysians to know. WE ARE NOT BOTHERED!!!!

"I think Harith you have to make money's worth by giving us real jokes and not jokes about your wife Jezamine feeling your pulpatation yada yada yada!!!! It was just BAD!!!!!"

I wanted to kick him off stage!

Thank god for the last song Harith sang with Douglas Lim about 1 Malaysia. That literaly saved u!!!!

Wicked

The last time I watched a musical was in Shanghai for Mamma Mia. This time around I could not miss Wicked. The musical and the story was really good. If you ever have the opportunity to watch this musical, do not miss it.

,
The interior of the MELBOURNE'S REGENT THEATER was amazing
